EqualiTeach Comment: Draft guidance for schools and colleges on trans and gender questioning children and young people

The Department for Education has today published the long-trailed draft guidance for schools and colleges on trans and gender questioning children and young people.

It is important to note that this is draft guidance, which is out for consultation and that it is non-statutory. This means that schools and colleges do not need to rush to implement any changes in the way in which they currently support the trans and gender questioning young people in their settings.

We know that the schools that we work with centre the safeguarding and wellbeing of their pupils and will continue to do so.

EqualiTeach will be publishing more detailed advice, together with our consultation response, in the new year.
